Photograms

Photograms are made by the strategic blocking and exposing of photosensitive paper to light.  By placing three dimensional objects on the paper, you obtain a two dimensional imprint of the object, its shadow.  Photograms can be utilized to explore relationships between the figure and the ground.  They also help hone compositional skills, and the ability to translate between two dimensions and three dimensions in design.
